Schiltz Lawn & Garden

About Schiltz Lawn & Garden

Evenings in June, Lincoln Park runs on carousel music and the smell of cut grass, and half of Pittsburg seems to be out walking the loop before dark. Schiltz Lawn & Garden keeps that same easy green going on the streets around it, mowing on a steady week and cutting a clean seam where mulch meets turf so the beds stop wandering into the walk. A garden in this town has to take a Kansas July with some grace — heat that sits, then a downpour that makes everything jump at once. The reward comes at the moment the mower shuts off and a place finally reads as one whole thing: lawn, border, bed and edge all agreeing with each other. Lawns and plantings get the same attention here, from Pittsburg out to Frontenac, Arma, Girard and Chicopee.
