R&C Hydroseeding LLC works from the same conviction: bare ground is only ground that is waiting. In the cool weeks of early spring, when the soil finally holds its warmth past sundown and all of Crawford County smells like turned earth, a slurry goes down over a fresh grade and the color comes up a couple of weeks behind it. There is a particular satisfaction in returning to a yard that was mud in March and finding it knit shut, ankle-deep and ready for a first cut by May. Around Pittsburg, Frontenac and Girard, this is lawn care starting at the seed — establishing new turf, filling in thin and bare ground, then keeping it mowed and edged once it takes hold.
