Hogelin Lawn and Landscape

About Hogelin Lawn and Landscape

The fields around Osage City run to wheat stubble and cut milo by the time the first real snow comes, flat gold ground going white almost overnight under a sky that gives no warning. Hogelin Lawn and Landscape works the town lots and farmyards both, plowing driveways against a horizon broken only by the grain elevator on the edge of town. A prairie snow here drifts more than it falls straight down, piling deep against the north side of a house or barn while the south side stays nearly bare, so a driveway can need clearing twice in the same storm depending on which way it faces. Wind off the open country carries a bite that outlasts the snow itself by days, keeping what's plowed frozen hard along the edges. By the second morning after a storm, the lots in town and the yards out past it look like the same clean work, just at different scales.
