About Sand Creek Outdoor Services

Sand Creek bends its slow way through Newton under a canopy of cottonwoods, and in October the fog sits on the water at first light while the leaves come down in handfuls with every gust. Sand Creek Outdoor Services starts the day in that hush. Fall is when Kansas lawns can actually be repaired: cores pulled from compacted ground, seed dropped into the openings, the cool nights and warm soil doing in three weeks what June would never allow. Leaves get cleared off the turf before they mat and smother it, mowing keeps on into November at a lowering height, and the edges stay defined even as everything else goes dormant. Come the following spring, the yards that got aerated and overseeded along the creek are the ones that green up first and hold.
