After a Harvey County thunderstorm blows through, the ground gives up its edges — mulch floats out of the beds, rock washes down toward the walk, and the line between lawn and planting goes soft. Newton Rock & Mulch spends spring putting those lines back. Beds get cut in with a clean shoulder, stone raked level and true, mulch laid to a depth that will hold through a July wind, and the turf mowed right up to the boundary so the whole yard reads as one composed thing. This is stone-and-soil country, an hour west of the limestone hills, and material that suits the place tends to stay where you put it. There is a particular pleasure in standing back at the end of a Newton afternoon and seeing the curve of a bed hold its shape all the way around the house.
