About Lindsay & Co. Landscaping

Newton grew up along a rail line that still runs straight through the middle of town, and on a May evening the brick storefronts hold the last of the day's heat long after the light has gone amber over the wheat ground west of the city. Lindsay & Co. Landscaping likes that hour best — the mower finishing a final pass, cut grass on the air of a side street, the Kansas wind easing off for the first time since noon. Lawns here answer to a demanding sky: flat sun for weeks, then a storm that drops an inch in twenty minutes and asks the turf to start over. The work is mowing on a rhythm the grass can actually keep, edges walked clean along sidewalks and driveways, trimming carried in tight to fence lines and mailbox posts, and cleanups when the season turns everything loose at once. A yard that reads sharp from the curb at dusk is the whole of the ambition.
