Halls Tree Service

About Halls Tree Service

Sand Creek loops through Newton under a run of cottonwoods that shade the Athletic Park ball games all summer long. Halls Tree Service tends that canopy and the neighborhoods around it — trimming limbs off rooflines, pruning back growth that crowds an alley, taking down the ones that no longer hold up their end. Evening is the hour to judge the results, when low light crosses the rail yard and a freshly shaped tree throws a shadow you can read. A storm out of the west can rearrange a block in twenty minutes; afterward the broken wood is hauled off and the lawn combed over until it looks untouched. That is how a town keeps itself, one yard at a time.
