About PrairieStone, Inc. Office

At midday the limestone fronts along Poyntz Avenue go pale gold, cut from the same rock the Flint Hills give up a few miles out of town. PrairieStone, Inc. Office works the yards behind and beyond that main street, bringing the sort of tidiness the stonework seems to ask for. Turf here has to survive a June scorch and an October chill in the same calendar year, so the schedule bends with it — taller cuts in the heat, closer ones once the nights turn. Beds get cleared, walks get blown clean, and the corners a mower cannot reach get cut by hand. It is ordinary work, and a whole block of it done right changes how a street feels to walk down.
