About Martinez Lawn Service

Saturday mornings in Liberal have a sound to them: mowers two streets over, sprinklers, kids headed for Light Park before the heat arrives. Martinez Lawn Service is part of that soundtrack, moving yard to yard while the dew is still down and the grass cuts clean. Mowing, trimming the fence lines, edging the concrete, carrying off what gets raked — the plain necessary work that keeps a neighborhood looking like somebody's home. Out here the horizon does all the decorating, so a lawn only has to be honest: even, green and squared at the edges. By noon the block looks better than it did at seven, and that is the point.
