About Schlenker Lawn Maintenance Co.

October on the Leavenworth bluffs turns the oak and hickory to rust, and then one west wind comes down off the ridge and puts most of it on the ground in an afternoon. Schlenker Lawn Maintenance Co. spends those weeks behind blowers and mowers, working leaves out of the corners and hauling them off before the first cold rain mats them into the turf. The rest of the year is the steady kind of work: mowing on a route, trimming along trees and fence lines, edging the walks and drives, and the spring cleanup that opens everything back up. Lawns down on the river side of town hold moisture far longer than the ones up the hill, so the schedule answers to the weather instead of the calendar. A good day ends with a property that looks tended — no windrows, no ragged edges, nothing left to rake.
