About 1rst Cut Lawn care

April in Leavenworth arrives as a smell before it arrives as a color — wet loess, thawed clay, fescue waking up on the west-side hills. That first pass of the season is the one 1rst Cut Lawn care lives for: the mower laying a clean line across a yard that has been shaggy and undecided since March. Mowing, trimming and edging, with the walks and the drive blown clear before the truck rolls on. By the time the Missouri is running high with spring rain, the route is set and the lines are honest. Leavenworth, Lansing and the county roads out toward Easton get the same attention in the twentieth week as in the first.
