One Up Lawn Care

About One Up Lawn Care

Six in the morning in Pinckney, and the dew on a fescue lawn still holds the shape of the night. That is when One Up Lawn Care makes the first pass, walking a straight line off the sidewalk and letting the mower lay its mark down the block. Below the neighborhood the Kansas River moves along behind the levee, brown and patient, and the light comes up over North Lawrence a little at a time. Trimming tightens the corners the deck cannot reach, the line along the drive gets cut clean, and the clippings come off the walk before anyone steps out for the paper. By the time traffic fills the street, the yard looks like someone loved it.
