The wind off Clinton Lake arrives at west Lawrence with nothing in its way, and in April it carries the smell of wet fescue a mile inland. E-Lawn works the neighborhoods on that side of town through the long green weeks when the grass climbs faster than anyone can keep up with — mowing on a set rotation, trimming the fence lines, edging the walks and drives. Spring here is a race, and staying ahead of it means showing up on the same day each week whether the ground is soft or the sun is out.
