About Fairchild Tree Services..

Rows of shelterbelt trees planted generations back still stand along the section lines outside Kingman, KS, bare branches breaking the wind before it reaches a farmstead's front door. Fairchild Tree Services opens the long lane under that windbreak, plowing a farm driveway from the road in to the house so the trees can keep doing their job of slowing the drift. A walkway to the door gets shoveled clear of whatever the shelterbelt didn't stop, salted so the last few steps aren't the ones that catch someone off guard. Downed branches that come loose in an ice storm get pulled from the drive too, so a plowed lane doesn't end at a limb across it. Out along those old tree rows, the wind still finds a way through, and the driveway still gets cleared in spite of it.
