Shorty’s Lawn Service

About Shorty’s Lawn Service

Late in a May afternoon the limestone along Washington Street goes gold, and the small front squares of grass in Junction City's older blocks look their greenest of the whole year. Shorty's Lawn Service keeps yards like those — mowing, string trimming around fence posts and hydrants, edging the seam where turf meets sidewalk down to one clean line. None of it is loud work. A property is left with the walks swept, the gate latched, and the block smelling of fresh-cut grass for an hour afterward. That is the entire point: a place that looks looked-after, on an ordinary Tuesday, in an ordinary Kansas spring.
