Lawn Works

About Lawn Works

South of Independence the highway runs out into tallgrass, past the ground where the Ingalls cabin stands, and by July that country is loud with insects and taller than it looks from a moving truck. Town lawns are a different animal — they want the blade kept high through the heat and a cut that comes on time. Lawn Works handles the long July stretch: mowing, string trimming around trees and posts, edging the walks, and clearing the clippings off the concrete before anyone tracks them inside. Grass cut properly through a Kansas summer comes out the far side thick instead of scorched. Getting a lawn there is the point of every single week.
