About SEK Leaf & Lawn

Southeast Kansas hangs onto its leaves; the oaks and maples along the older streets of Independence let go slowly, a few weeks past when you expect them to. That is the busy stretch for SEK Leaf & Lawn — leaves gathered off the lawns and out of the beds, then hauled away instead of pushed to the curb to blow back by Thursday. Through the growing months those same yards get mowed on a regular turn, trimmed around trunks and fence posts, and edged where grass meets pavement. There is a particular pleasure in walking off a lawn in November that is bare, green and combed out, ready for the cold to arrive. Then the mower comes back around in April and it begins again.
