About PrairieLand Partners

Autumn light around Independence turns the hay meadows a low gold, and the Osage orange hedgerows along the section roads drop their heavy green fruit into the ditches. PrairieLand Partners works the yards set inside that country — mowing, trimming, edging, and clearing away what comes down. Larger places out here call for a plan more than a hurry: a cutting height that suits the month, a route that keeps the grass ahead of the mower instead of behind it. By the time the meadows go tan, the lawns are cut down for the year and the leaves are off. Then the whole thing waits on spring, which in southeast Kansas has never been much for waiting.
