Spring Green

About Spring Green

Dew lies heavy on a Hutchinson lawn at six in the morning, and you can count every footprint you leave crossing it. Spring Green reads a yard in that light — where the fescue has thinned, where the shade thinned it, what the crabgrass along the drive is planning. Lawn care out here is a long game against wind, sand and a summer that means it, so the work is steady: feeding the turf, treating weeds, keeping the grass dense enough to hold its own ground. The payoff arrives weeks later, in a lawn gone deep and even green from edge to edge, the way it looks in a memory of childhood. It is patient work, and Reno County tends to reward patience.
