About Ogden Tree Service

The shelterbelts planted across Sheridan County decades ago still do their one job all winter, standing in long rows to break a wind that would otherwise run unchecked across the wheat ground toward Hoxie. Ogden Tree Service keeps those same rows trimmed and healthy through the growing season, and once snow starts moving sideways instead of down, the crew is out clearing the farm lanes that run in the lee of the trees, where the drifts pile deepest and hardest. A lane cut along a shelterbelt takes more digging than open ground, since the trees that block the wind also catch everything the wind is carrying. Getting a driveway open on the downwind side of a windbreak means going back through more than once before the storm is really finished with the county. Out past the last row of trees, the plains open up flat and white all the way to the next section line.
