About Grace Lawn Cemetery

In Howard, the last days of May bring families home to Elk County, and every patch of grass is expected to look its tidiest when they arrive. Grace Lawn Cemetery carries a name that speaks of quiet ground and patient keeping, and its lawn care honors that: grass mowed even, edges trimmed close around stone and path, nothing left unkempt. The Chautauqua Hills rise around town in post oak and blackjack, and the late-spring light falls gently through them onto the green. There is real dignity in mowing done this carefully, the kind that lets a visitor simply stand still and remember.
