About Tip Top Tree Service, Hiawatha, KS

From the high ground on the north edge of Hiawatha, the rooftops step down toward downtown in low ridges, and on a clear winter morning you can watch chimney smoke rise straight up over the whole town before any wind picks up. Tip Top Tree Service works those same hillside streets, and once the snow starts, the same trucks that haul brush in October are out clearing driveways and walks up and down the grade. A hill street holds ice longer than flat ground, so the work here is careful — scraped to bare pavement on the inclines, salted at the curves, cleared top to bottom so cars can get down safely, the driveways afterward running in a neat line of dark squares against the white yards below. It is a small thing, a cleared hill on a cold morning, but it makes the whole street easier to move through.
