Rising Lawn Care

About Rising Lawn Care

First light comes early to the plains south of Wichita, and it comes all at once. Rising Lawn Care is out in it — dew still silvering the blades, the grain elevator west of town catching the sun before the streets do. Mowing early is its own reward: the cut is cleaner while the grass is cool, the edges hold their shape, and the clippings fall where they should. By the time the day turns hot and the southerly wind picks up, the lot is done and the stripes are set. A meadowlark on the fence line keeps time for all of it. Haysville wakes up to a yard already handled.
