Darren's Lawn Care

About Darren's Lawn Care

By late July the south wind crosses Ellis County hot and dry all day, and the good hour is the one after six, when the shade finally stretches and sprinklers start ticking down the block. Darren's Lawn Care keeps a steady route through those weeks — weekly mowing, trimming around fences and posts, edging the walks, and clearing the clippings so nothing mats down in the heat. Western Kansas turf earns its keep out here; it takes the sun, the grasshoppers and the long stretches between rains, and still comes back green when it's handled right. A freshly cut lawn at dusk in Hays smells like the entire summer at once. That's the part worth showing up for, yard after yard, week after week.
