Meeks Tree Service

About Meeks Tree Service

Northeast of Great Bend, the marsh at Cheyenne Bottoms spreads out flat and silver under a winter sky, its cranes long since flown south by the time the first serious snow reaches the wheat fields around town. Meeks Tree Service spends its summers under the cottonwoods and elms that shade Great Bend's older streets, and its winters clearing the driveways and walks those same streets depend on. A crew that knows a place across every season carries something steady with it — the ones trimming a windbreak in July are the same ones scraping frost off a walkway in December. After a storm, the light here turns sharp and blue-white, bouncing hard off fresh snow, and the work goes fastest in that first hour before the glare sets in. By midmorning the walks are clear, and the town looks freshly redrawn for a little while.
