Cain's Lawn Maintenance

About Cain's Lawn Maintenance

Spring reaches Garden City on the wind before it ever reaches the grass — a warm afternoon in March, the cottonwoods along the Arkansas riverbed still bare, and then one week everything greens at once. Cain's Lawn Maintenance is built around that first cut of the year, the one that takes a winter-flattened yard and gives it back its shape. From there it is steady keeping: mowing on a schedule, trimming the awkward strips a mower cannot reach, edging the walks so the concrete reads sharp against the turf. Finney County asks a lot of a lawn, with dry air and a sun that does not let up, so consistency matters more here than any single big effort. Done right, the yard stops being a chore somebody is behind on and turns back into a place to stand at the end of the day.
