Finley's Lawn and Pest

About Finley's Lawn and Pest

When frost lays flat and white across the wheat stubble outside Fredonia, Finley's Lawn and Pest is usually already three driveways into its morning route. The company spends its summers on lawns and its winters on the same properties, clearing drives and walkways before Wilson County's school buses start their rounds. Fredonia's downtown block, built up during the old oil boom, keeps its sidewalks narrow and its awnings low, so a shovel does what a plow can't reach. Out along the county roads, where fields run flat to the horizon, the wind piles drifts against fence lines faster than the snow itself falls. The goal every morning is the same short list: driveway open, walk clear, salt down before anyone's tires or boots test it.
