West of town the ground rolls up into the long low ridges of the Osage Cuestas, and out at Lake Fort Scott the evening wind comes across the water and cools everything a good hour before dark. LMCO LC19 works that end of the day and every hour ahead of it, mowing, string trimming, edging, and clearing clippings off walks and drives. Grass on this cuesta ground runs thick in the swales and thin over the crowns, so keeping a lawn even across both takes actually watching it. The route covers Fort Scott and the small places set around it, from Uniontown down to Fulton. There is a particular good feeling in latching the gate on a yard that is finished.
