About Gibson Tree Service

Wind is the fact of life everyone in Dodge City learns first, and Gibson Tree Service works with it rather than against it, sending the same equipment that limbs cottonwoods along the Arkansas River in summer out to open driveways before a ground blizzard has the chance to drift a lane shut. Feedlot approaches and long farm lanes get the first pass, since a stuck truck out among the cattle costs somebody a whole morning's feeding. From there the crew works back toward town section road by section road, clearing rural drives that catch the worst of the drift off open wheat ground. Front Street and the old Boot Hill grounds sit quiet under frost while the crew is still three farms out, and it's usually early afternoon before the last in-town driveway gets cleared. There's nothing fancy about it — just a county that measures its winters mostly by how hard the wind blows, and equipment built to answer that.
