Prairieland Lawncare

About Prairieland Lawncare

East of Derby the ground opens up and keeps going, mixed-grass country running out toward Rose Hill under a sky that takes up most of the view. Prairieland Lawncare works the tended side of that same ground, mowing, trimming and edging Derby yards so the lines read straight against the fence and the drive. Afternoons here arrive with a south wind that lays the grass over in sheets, and there is a real satisfaction in cutting a clean pass into it anyway. A meadowlark on a fence post, clippings blown back off the walk, the smell of cut green in July, that is most of the reward. Lawn care in a place that was prairie first, kept neat without losing what the light does to it at six in the evening.
