Southwind Lawn and Landscape

About Southwind Lawn and Landscape

For most of the summer the wind in Cloud County comes up out of the south and simply does not quit — it bends the bluestem in the ditches, dries a walk before you finish it, and carries the smell of a Kansas August clear across town. Southwind Lawn and Landscape works inside that wind: mowing early, trimming along limestone foundations and fence lines, taking the drive down clean before the next gust puts half of it back. Thunderheads stack up west of Concordia most evenings and sometimes make good on it, and one honest rain means the whole route puts on two days of growth overnight. Mowing, edging and cleanup are the plain daily work, and they are what makes a lot look tended from the sidewalk. When the season turns it becomes leaves, beds, and one final cut before the grass goes dormant.
