A Cut Above

About A Cut Above

Late morning on a side street off Andover Road, the last pass of the mower leaves a line straight enough to sight down. A Cut Above treats a Butler County yard the way a carpenter treats a plank — edge until the concrete shows its own clean shoulder, trim the fence corners no mower deck can reach, then clear the walks until nothing is left but grass. Fescue comes on fast here once May warms the ground, and staying out ahead of it is half the satisfaction. By afternoon the trailer is two neighborhoods east and the first lawn has gone still in the heat, holding every line it was given. Somebody pulls into that driveway at six and sees it before they see anything else.
