March in Delaware County is mud and patience, but under the old shade trees along Yorktown's side streets the ground firms up first and the grass wakes early. Steve's Trees LLC mows and trims those shaded lawns straight through the season, working the tight ground around trunks and root flares where a machine has to go slow and a string trimmer finishes the job. Edging along walks and drives gives a shaded yard the definition it can otherwise lose under a heavy canopy. Grass grown in dappled light is its own animal, and getting it even is a satisfaction that lasts the week. Yorktown and the nearby communities of Cammack, Chesterfield and Muncie sit within the service area.
