Jake's Lawn Care

About Jake's Lawn Care

On a July afternoon in Washington, the thunderheads build out west over open ground and everybody on the block starts watching the sky. Jake's Lawn Care watches it too, and works the shaded bungalow streets fast enough to beat the first fat drops. Mowing, trimming around the maple roots and the porch steps, a crisp edge cut where turf meets sidewalk, then the walks swept clear before the truck pulls away. Grass grows hard here in the humid weeks after a good rain, so the rhythm is steady and the return is regular. When the storm finally comes through, it falls on lawns already put in order.
