Weed, Inc.

About Weed, Inc.

West of Warsaw, past the last of the lake subdivisions, the ground opens into the kind of wide farm-to-market country that fills most of Kosciusko County outside town, and Weed, Inc. runs those backroads at the end of the day rather than the start of it, clearing what the afternoon's snow has left before dark sets it hard. The fields out here run flat and pale under a low winter sun, broken by the same fence lines and grain bins that have marked them for generations. Snow that falls through a short winter afternoon doesn't get the chance to warm and refreeze the way it does closer to the lakes, so an evening pass is often the only one a road needs. Farmhouses sit far enough apart that a single truck can cover a lot of ground before full dark, headlights doing more of the work than the fading daylight. By the time Weed, Inc.'s trucks turn back toward town, the western roads run clear under a sky just starting to show stars.
