Stryker Lawn Service

About Stryker Lawn Service

Along the Tippecanoe River on the north edge of Warsaw, spring shows up first in the low ground — the trail edges green while the open yards are still brown and matted from winter. Stryker Lawn Service starts there, opening lawns back up: raking out the thatch and the fallen sticks, cleaning the beds, taking the first cut a little high so the roots have something to work with. Kosciusko County thaws slow and wet, and a lawn that gets aerated and seeded in that narrow window carries the difference all the way to August. From then on it's the weekly turn through Warsaw's neighborhoods, deck level, lines true, corners trimmed by hand. There is a particular satisfaction in a yard that was gray in March and is thick enough by June to leave footprints in.
