Lawn Barbers

About Lawn Barbers

A haircut and a lawn have more in common than people think — both come down to the line, and both look wrong the moment the line wanders. Lawn Barbers works Valparaiso's older streets, where the sidewalks sit close to the curb and every edge is out on display. Mowing on a set week, trimming around trees, posts and foundations, edging the walk and the drive, then sending the clippings back onto the grass where they belong. On a Saturday with the windows open you can hear three mowers going at once across a neighborhood, which is what summer sounds like in this town. The finish is the whole point: sharp, even, done.
