About Stafford Services llc

April on the southwest side arrives with wind — open ground out past Rum Village, the old oaks still bare, and a lawn underneath all of it waiting to be woken up. Stafford Services starts the year there with cleanups: winter's litter raked out, beds cut back, the matted grass opened so sun and air can get down to it. The first mow of the season is the one worth watching, color coming up behind the machine like a curtain drawn back. From then on it is weekly work — mowing, string trimming, a crisp edge along every walk and drive — with fertilizing to hold that color through the flat heat of July. By November the leaves are gone and the yard is put away clean, ready for whatever the lake decides to send across.
