About J&R's Lawn Service and Snow Plowing

Northwest of downtown, out along Portage Avenue, the cold comes off Lake Michigan in long bands and the neighborhoods spend months under a low gray ceiling. When April finally lets the ground loose, J&R's Lawn Service and Snow Plowing is back on those streets, mowing, edging and trimming yards that have waited a good while for it. That first cut of the year smells like the entire warm season arriving in one afternoon. From there it becomes a weekly cadence into October — cut, trim, clear the walks, move on. Same houses, same route, kept the way the people who live there want it kept.
