Lawn Enforcement

About Lawn Enforcement

There's a joke built right into the name, and Lawn Enforcement leans into it every time a driveway gets plowed down to a border as straight as a chalk line — snow removal with the kind of precision that looks almost deliberate, like the edge was drawn with a ruler instead of a blade. South Bend winters give plenty of chances to prove it: a heavy band of snow can bury a street in an afternoon, and by the next morning this crew has already run its patrol past the same stretch of driveways, leaving each one squared off and clean. Near the East Race Waterway, where the water still runs even when everything around it is frozen solid, the walking paths need clearing before the joggers and dog-walkers are out at first light. There's something almost stubborn about keeping a perfectly straight edge on a plowed driveway when the wind is refilling it in real time, but that's the standard here regardless of the weather's opinion. By the time the sun's up over the river, the block looks like it was never touched by the storm at all — just tidy, sharp, and done.
