About Simon's Painting & More
Two rail lines still cross in the middle of Seymour, and on an October afternoon the whistle carries out past the last of the mowing season. That is when Simon's Painting & More settles into its autumn rhythm: grass slowing down, leaves letting go, every yard wanting one more careful cut before the brick storefronts downtown fill up for Oktoberfest. The work is mowing, trimming around beds, and hauling the mess away, so a property is handed back looking settled rather than merely shortened. Light in this part of Indiana goes long and low across the fields in fall, and it finds every ragged line, which is a fair reason to walk the borders twice. A lawn finished at dusk out here holds its shape right up to frost.
