Country side lawn care

About Country side lawn care

Out past the last streetlight in Salem the pavement turns to gravel and the county opens up — hay ground, fencerows, and the Blue River bottoms lying low and green in the late light. Country side lawn care keeps to that rhythm, mowing the long yards where the grass runs right up to a field edge and somebody still has to decide where the lawn ends. String trimming around the mailbox post, the propane tank, the old maple; then the clippings cleared off the drive so the gravel stays gravel. By evening the cut rows lie in clean stripes and the smell hangs in the air the way it does after a hay day. It is plain work, and it looks right when it's finished.
