About Sweet's Land Clearing and Forestry LLC

Between Rush County's square fields, the old fencerows and woodlots still stand—narrow strips of hardwood that Sweet's Land Clearing and Forestry spends its year thinning and clearing so the ground under them stays farmable. Those same tree lines are what break the wind just enough to pile snow into long drifts across the farm lanes running past them, and the crew that knows where each hedgerow sits also knows exactly where those drifts will land. Plow trucks follow that same lane system field after field, cutting through drift after drift wherever the timber funnels the wind into one long ridge across the road. A fencerow iced solid after a freeze looks like lace against the flat white fields on either side of it. The same saws that come out for storm-downed limbs in summer stay parked through the winter while the trucks take over.
