Schlosser Turf Masters

About Schlosser Turf Masters

The Jay County courthouse sits at the center of Portland, and the streets radiating out from that square are where this turf crew spends its winter mornings, plowing driveways in the same neighborhoods it manages lawns for all summer. Each driveway gets cleared the way the turf gets mowed — even and full, no ragged edge left at the property line. Sidewalks near the square get shoveled to the concrete so the walk to a downtown storefront doesn't mean stepping through a drift. Yards close to the Salamonie River get watched for ice where low ground holds moisture longer than the rest of the block. The shops open to find the walks and drives around the square clear against the snow banked at their edges.
