The Marshall County courthouse square anchors downtown Plymouth, and on a snowy morning this crew is out working the streets and lots around it before the shops nearby open their doors. Driveways in the surrounding neighborhoods get plowed the same way the lawns get mowed come summer — edge to edge, nothing left ragged at the corners. Sidewalks around the square get shoveled down to brick and concrete so the morning coffee crowd isn't picking a path through drifts. Salt goes down on the shaded north side of the courthouse, where sun doesn't reach the ice until well past noon. Midmorning finds the square clear and the surrounding blocks open for the day's business.
