The ground out there is still farmland at heart, flat and open, and a snowfall drifts across an unfinished road the same way it would across a bare field. Heavy equipment does the job a plow truck can't on ground this rough, clearing wide enough for a delivery truck to get through. By the time crews show up for the day, the site's passable again, mud and gravel instead of snow.
