About Steve's Anderson Arbor Care Inc

The White River Greenway follows the river east out of Muncie, tree-lined the whole way, toward Anderson and the towns strung along that corridor. Steve's Anderson Arbor Care Inc works the storm-damaged limbs and downed wood along that stretch, clearing driveways and walkways for the properties that back up to the greenway's trees. A hard freeze behaves differently under tree cover than it does in the open, the canopy holding the cold and the ice both, so branches carry their ice longer before they finally give way. The crew moves down the corridor property by property, cutting loose what's already broken and hauling it clear before it becomes someone's problem on a walk to the car. By the time they're done, the path along the river is clear again, the water below still moving under a skin of ice at its edges.
