Custom Yard Works

About Custom Yard Works

October in Mount Vernon turns the maples around the courthouse square to copper, and within a week they let go of all of it at once. Custom Yard Works is out in that season with leaf cleanup and hauling, the last mows of the year, trimming, edging, and mulch worked around the beds before the cold sets in. There is a particular pleasure in a fall yard finished at dusk: beds dark and level, turf combed clean, nothing left to blow back across the sidewalk. The town's brick storefronts and deep old lots reward that kind of tidying — good bones want a clean frame. Yard by yard, that is the work here in the county seat above the Ohio.
