Shades of Green Lawn and Landscape

About Shades of Green Lawn and Landscape

Some of the oldest oaks in Lafayette stand around Highland Park, and by an August evening their shade runs long across the lawns on every side of the block. Shades of Green Lawn and Landscape spends a lot of the season under canopy like that, where turf grows thin and slow and needs a different hand: a higher cut, careful trimming around exposed roots, seed chosen for ground that never sees full sun. Out in the open yards the same crew mows and edges on the ordinary summer rhythm, feeding the grass ahead of the heat and again when the nights turn. It is patient work, and the result is a yard that stays even from the sunny street side all the way back into the dark corner behind the garage. The light fades early under those trees, which only makes a finished lawn look better.
