By November the bluff above the White River at Holliday Park has given up its leaves, and every yard downhill from it is buried to the ankle. The rest of the year runs on mowing, edging and trimming, with the final cuts of the season taken low so the grass goes into winter clean. North-side lots come with big trees and long slopes, and both take extra passes. Handing back a bare, swept lawn on the last warm day of the year is a good way to end a season.
